This session will be guided and supported, meaning you'll be instructed to resist imposing anything on the body, or making assumptions about what constitutes a correct stretch. We will work with the body's natural rhythm rather than forcing traditional stretching patterns to push through the tension. We will focus on safely and slowly elongating the tight areas while employing appropriate breathing techniques and awareness in conjunction with active stretching. The intent is to create space in the muscles and joints to help the body move more freely and comfortably. This process will assist in mitigating muscle stiffness, enhancing range of motion, and aid in alleviating the tension that builds up during activity or limiting ranges of motion; all of which could lead to pain and discomfort later. Each stretch we will apply - and invest - to the body, will be what your body requires in that moment or to service proprioceptive exercises; deeper hip opening, hamstring release, shoulder mobility, or spinal decompression.
