Emergency Dentist Park Slope
valid until: 13 Feb 2027date published: 13 Feb 2026If you have a knocked-out tooth, your dentist may be able to replace it. Carefully rinse the tooth, place it back into the socket, and gently bite down to hold it in place. If you can’t insert the tooth, store it in a glass of saliva or milk and bring it to your appointment. Determining the underlying cause of severe tooth pain is essential before you try treating it at home. If you have tooth pain that requires emergency treatment, don’t take pain relievers like ibuprofen. Instead, apply a cold compress or ice pack to reduce swelling in the meantime. If possible, try to locate the lost tooth fragment. Gently rinse off any debris and bring it to your appointment. The team may be able to reattach the fragment or place a dental crown. In the meantime, you can take anti-inflammatory pain relievers and apply an ice pack to the area. Many soft-tissue lacerations require stitches. If you can control the bleeding, apply a cold compress or ice pack to reduce inflammation while waiting for your appointment. However, if you can’t get your bleeding under control, you should head to your nearest emergency room (ER) for treatment.
