High lubricity broaching oil (not water coolant)
Why?
Reduces tooth wear
Prevents pick-up (chip welding)
Improves surface finish
Prevents scoring on spline flanks
Because the broach segments are mounted inside a cylindrical housing that looks like a metal pot surrounding the workpiece.
