Express Entry is one of the fastest and most popular pathways for skilled workers who want to become permanent residents of Canada. Launched in 2015, this online immigration system manages applications for several economic immigration programs and helps select candidates based on their skills, education, and work experience.

What is Express Entry?

Express Entry is not a visa itself but a points-based system used by the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada to process applications for permanent residence. Candidates create an online profile and are ranked against others using the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS).

The higher your CRS score, the better your chances of receiving an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residency.

Programs Under Express Entry

Express Entry manages applications for three main immigration programs:

1. Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP)

2. Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP)
