QC Engineer for Quantifiable Reliability
Job Description
Duties:
Product Inspection & Validation: Compare engineering blueprints and Quality Assurance (QA) plans to conduct thorough dimensional, visual, and functional inspections of arriving raw materials, in-process setups, and final finished goods.
Metrology & Calibration Management: Manage the master gauge calibration matrix and operate, program, and maintain precision measuring devices such as micrometers, height gauges, profile projectors, digital vernier calipers, and Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM).
Non-Conformance Management (NCR): Conduct MRB (Material Review Board) segregation meetings, issue structured Non-Conformance Reports, and promptly isolate, tag, and log defective components or material batches.
Root Cause Analysis and CAPA: Use traditional 8D, 5-Why, and Ishikawa (Fishbone) approaches to lead formal troubleshooting loops for internal rejections or customer complaints in order to adopt strong Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
PPAP & APQP Documentation: Create and assemble technical quality documentation, such as complete Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) dossiers, Control Plans, Gauge R&R (Repeatability and Reproducibility) studies, and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).

Focus Skills:
GD&T and Blueprint Mastery: Expert practical ability to decipher intricate engineering drawings, welding annotations, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) callouts in accordance with ASME Y14.5 standards.
Metrology Instrument Fluency: Proficient practical experience using automated optical or touch-probe CMM machines, as well as specialized manual gauges, micrometers, roughness testers, and plug gauges.
Expertise in 7 Quality Control (7 QC) Tools: The ability to effectively use the fundamental 7 QC tools (Pareto analysis, histograms, scatter plots, check sheets, etc.) to reduce unprocessed inspection sheets to unambiguous quality trend graphs.
Quality Management System (QMS) Literacy: A thorough understanding of ISO operational parameters.
