White discharge before a period is usually a normal part of the menstrualcycle. Hormonal changes can cause the body to produce creamy or milky white discharge as the period approaches. In most cases, healthy discharge is odorless and does not cause itching or irritation. However, thick discharge with a strong smell, unusual color, or discomfort may indicate an infection or another health condition.
