Responsibilities:
Vertical Milling Production Execution: Start pre-programmed vertical milling cycles by securely loading raw blocks, forgings, or castings into hydraulic vices, VMC fixtures, or specially designed modular clamps.
Dimensional Feature Verification: Use precision metrology tools to check that parts meet blueprint requirements by examining crucial machined measurements, such as pocket depths, hole pitches, face flatness, and counterbore diameters.
Surface Finish Quality Control: Keep a tight eye on the cutting floor and utilize surface roughness comparators and visual inspections to identify tool marks or scoring from microchipping or broken inserts.
Dull ToolingStatus Communication: To avoid scrap, promptly pause cycles and flag the VMC Setter or Tool Room cell if you see unusual machining vibrations, excessive cutting smoke, or screeching chatter sounds.
In-Cycle Deburring & Finishing: To maximize station productivity, carry out the required manual deburring, filing, chamfering, and part cleaning tasks during active machining run periods.

Required Skills:
Basic Milling Controller Literacy: The ability to navigate coordinate system readouts and simple screen arrays on conventional industrial VMC panels, particularly those with interfaces from Fanuc, Siemens, Haas, or Mitsubishi.
Measurement literacy specialized to milling: practical proficiency with workshop checking instruments, particularly digital vernier calipers, external/depth micrometers, dial bore gauges, pin gauges, and thread plug gauges.
Engineering Print and Blueprint Interpretation: The capacity to interpret mechanical part drawings and comprehend basic tolerance ranges, datum indicators, hole diameters, and slot depths.
Sharp Sensory Awareness: Outstanding capacity to quickly detect tool deterioration or tip fracture by monitoring surface transitions, watching chip colors, and detecting small sound changes.
